Sweating to Heal

Sweating as a means of healing has been used for centuries in cultures from South America to India. The health benefits offered by saunas are numerous and well established. Infrared saunas take it one step further.

Utilising the most modern of technologies, infrared saunas allow you to have a similar experience with maximised benefits.

Why Infrared Sauna ?

An infrared sauna uses light to create heat. Sometimes it’s called a far-infrared sauna, whereby ‘far’ describes where the waves fall on the infrared spectrum.

Whereas a traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air and body, infrared saunas directly heat your body without warming the air around you. Instead, UV-filtered light rays seep through your skin to internally generate heat and help you radiate from within.

Because of this, it’s more comfortable than a heat-warmed sauna. You’ll still sweat, release toxins and stimulate the respiratory system, just without the stuffy tightness felt from too much heat in the air.

The result is a pleasurable, relaxing experience, which is completely safe and restorative.

Our Infrared saunas have many benefits for your health and wellbeing.

It calms the nervous system and helps to destress. Then there’s the physical transformation of your cells, circulation and respiratory functioning. And did we mention the weight loss and anti-ageing?

Benefits

Body

Increased circulation, detoxification and immune system boosting are all wonderful effects from infrared therapy. Research has shown that profuse sweating can reduce mercury levels in the body in addition to fighting infections, making our saunas the perfect lifestyle choice for those with a seafood heavy diet or if you’re fighting a cold.

Skin

Infrared therapy stimulates collagen production while healing your skin from the surface to deeper levels leading to long term skin benefits. The action of profusely sweating at a lower temperature means that your skin literally glows from the moment you leave us.

Mood

Our infrared saunas have been proven to release endorphins in your brain helping to lower cortisol levels. This leaves you feeling a “runners high” when you’re done giving you the same benefit as a workout without the hard work.

Sleep

30 minute long infrared sauna sessions help your mind and muscles to relax in a substantial way helping you to have a better nights sleep and reset bad sleeping patterns.

Infrared Sauna FAQ

Each session begins at 25°C, with the temperature steadily increasing to 50°C by the last 10 minutes of your session. The maximum recommended temperature is 60°C and for those who are new, we recommend 45°C until you’re used to it.

Because the temperature inside a far infrared sauna is adjustable and comfortable, we can stay in there longer than traditional saunas. We recommend 30 minutes.

Remove your clothes, step inside and close the door behind you firmly. You’ll sweat a lot, so place a towel on the seat before you sit down.

Use the sauna remote control to change the lighting. Feel the benefits of light.

Yes, which will be regained upon rehydration. But the calories burned are real. As you relax in the gentle heat of our saunas, your body is actually hard at work pumping blood (increased heart rate), increasing circulation and producing sweat to cool you down. This results in a caloric burn!

Going to the sauna is popular for relaxing and socialising, however, using a sauna has many benefits. Based on your individual health and wellness goals, we recommend going to the sauna at least 2-3 times a week. For even better results, going to the sauna 4-5 times a week is recommended. We suggest you try our infrared sauna immediately following your workout/fitness program to see the best results.

Yes. By increasing your heart rate and core body temperature by 3 degrees in your session, it could take up to an hour to return to normal. We encourage you to stay active before or after your session if you want to maximize the calorie burn.

We recommend you consult your doctor in case of any medical concerns.

Our saunas are full-spectrum Infrared Saunas so they use a combination of all three!

Color Light Therapy, also known as Chromotherapy, is a method of treatment that uses the visible spectrum (colors) of electromagnetic light to restore balance to one’s physiology. It is a centuries-old concept used successfully over the years to treat various diseases and ailments.
